Pulau Ubin, Singapore

It's a Saturday morning and we headed towards Pulau Ubin island for a mountain bike ride.  The place is popular with locals and tourists. Upon arrival, you can either hike, take a tour bus or rent a bike.

These boats serve as the ferry to get you from Singapore
to the island

The place is a nature reserve. Students, bird watchers, flora and
fauna enthusiasts were all over the island.

Just got off this muddy trail.
Found another lake on an off-road trail
It's a hot and humid day. We rode back to a shack
where the owner was selling cold drinks.

Had to rest after a hill climb. Found a bunch of locals
resting and staying in the shade.
Rode back to the beach after riding around the island.
We returned the bikes and headed to one of the restaurants
on the beach.  These are tiger shrimps: you grab a net,
catch some and give it to the cook.  You then sit and wait.
Lunch: fresh seafood - shrimp, fish, squid and more.

Just a regular work day

At work,  I walk over to the cafeteria and grab a cup of coffee.  Below is a snapshot of what I see on a daily basis while onsite.

Daily exercise routine: a parade of horses, jockeys and trainers

Short Video - City Tour

It's a Saturday and my mother and sister are in town. I took them on a city tour on a double-decker bus.  Here's a short cellphone video that I took just before it rained.

Hort Park (?)

The day was spent going around the city. We either hiked or took the MRT, buses and cabs.
I'm not sure but maybe this place is Hort Park.

There's this walkway from the top of the hill down to the ground level.

There are various gardens in this place. The centerpiece
for this garden is a car sliced in half.

Clarke Quay

"Quay" is pronounced the same way as "key" (such as Key West).  In Singapore,  Clarke Quay is an area in downtown where you'll find restaurants, bars, shops and tourists.
