More Food

Sunset at the East Coast Seafood Centre
I had to join the team dinner at this restaurant
Upon returning to my room,  I saw that the hotel gave
me a cake, candle and tea, accompanied by a greeting card.
Dinner: chicken Panang curry, deep fried tofu, Thai iced tea
Dessert: mango with glutinous rice

Hort Park (?)

The day was spent going around the city. We either hiked or took the MRT, buses and cabs.
I'm not sure but maybe this place is Hort Park.

There's this walkway from the top of the hill down to the ground level.
View from the walkway, midway to the ground level.
There are various gardens in this place. The centerpiece
for this garden is a car sliced in half.

Clarke Quay

"Quay" is pronounced the same way as "key" (such as Key West).  In Singapore,  Clarke Quay is an area in downtown where you'll find restaurants, bars, shops and tourists.

Audiophile alert

We went to this building in Singapore that specialized in selling high-end audio components.  Each floor had several stores selling different brands of amplifiers, pre-amps, speakers and gadgets - an audiophile's playground.

I asked the salesperson for a demo and the sound
from this  amplifier was just amazing.

Preserving Old Singaporean Architecture

Old buildings and homes are preserved in Singapore.
The ground level is typically a business establishment while the
upper levels are living quarters.

Room with a View

I would have preferred a clear view of the Singapore Straits.  The other side of the hotel does not offer much either as it shows office buildings. I can't complain as the city is clean, lively and there's a lot of food options.

Singapore

Had  "street food" dinner with a friend.  We walked towards the Merlion (mythical creature with the body of a fish and  the head of a lion), one of Singapore's tourist icons.

The hotels on the other side of the river.

Narita Airport, Tokyo

I arrived at Narita after a 14-hour flight.  I was a bit hungry and was looking for a place that served ramen or soba noodles. The one closest to my gate was this sushi place.  I didn't want to eat sushi prior to a 7-hour flight to Singapore.

The wonders of Japan - Kitkat in wasabi flavor.  I had to buy some.
